Did you know??  There is no transfer of property penalty if a home is transferred to an adult child of the applicant/recipient who was living in the home at least two years prior to the individual's admission to the nursing facility and who provided care that was necessary to permit the individual to remain at home rather than be institutionalized. See Medicaid's manual 2640.10.15.05. The key is how to document the individual's condition and the extent of care provided by the adult child.
